Itinerary Overview:
Start Your Adventure: Your journey begins with a scenic drive toward the Caribbean lowlands of Costa Rica. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating insights about the region’s natural wonders and rich agricultural landscape. As you travel, you’ll pass vast pineapple and banana plantations, learning about their significance to the country’s economy and culture.
Safety Briefing and Gear: Upon arrival at the put-in spot, our certified bilingual guides will provide a comprehensive safety briefing. They will equip you with lifejackets, helmets, and paddles to ensure maximum safety throughout the trip. Before hitting the rapids, you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and get comfortable with the equipment.
Thrilling Class IV Rapids: The first section of the Sarapiqui rafting Class III-IV adventure is the most intense. Navigate through Class IV rapids that will have your heart racing for about one hour. This is where the adrenaline kicks in, making it the perfect choice for thrill-seekers.
Scenic Break & Refresh: After conquering the most intense section, it’s time for a break. We will stop at a beautiful spot where the jungle meets the crystal-clear waters of the river. The scenery is breathtaking. Take a moment to soak it all in while enjoying fresh tropical fruits. You can also jump into the natural pools for an extra thrill. This is the perfect chance to relax and recharge before continuing.

Wildlife and Nature: As you continue through the second section with Class III rapids, take in the lush rainforest scenery. The Sarapiqui River is surrounded by dense jungle, making it a prime spot to observe Costa Rica’s incredible biodiversity.
Private Take-Out & Cold Drinks: Once the rafting is complete, we will arrive at our private take-out spot. Here, you can freshen up and celebrate your journey. Cold beer, juice, or water will be waiting for you. We will also provide fresh towels, so you can dry off before heading to the next part of the adventure.

La Tirimbina Biological Reserve & Buffet Lunch:The adventure doesn’t end there! After rafting, we’ll head to a nearby nature reserve for a delicious buffet-style lunch. At the reserve, you’ll have access to changing facilities and restrooms. After lunch, you can take an optional short walk to a famous hanging bridge for breathtaking views of the Sarapiquí River and the surrounding jungle.

Return to La Fortuna: With hearts full of adventure, we’ll make our way back to La Fortuna. The short one-hour drive provides time to relax and reflect on the incredible experiences of the day. Upon arrival, we’ll drop you off at your hotel, leaving you with unforgettable memories of your Sarapiquí rafting adventure.
